January 2012 – No DUI – Driving wrong way on one-way street

Tampa DUI lawyer gets charges reduced for client who drove the wrong way down a one-way street

Even if your driving was terrible, you may
be able to avoid a DUI conviction

Quick summary of the Tampa DUI case: Client left a bar and didn’t realize the entrance to the bar was on a divided roadway. She drove the wrong way down a one-way street, and was stopped shortly afterward by a Hillsborough County Deputy who was waiting outside the bar. She performed poorly on the field sobriety exercises and blew a breath alcohol level over .08 on the Intoxilyzer 8000.

DUI defense: I prepared motions to suppress and prepared the DUI case for jury trial, but was able to negotiate with the prosecutor and get the charges reduced.

Results: The prosecutor listened to my arguments and agreed to reduce the charges to Reckless Driving, allowing the client to avoid a DUI conviction.

How this helps you: Even if your driving looks horrible, and even if you blew over the legal limit, there may be valid defenses that help you avoid a DUI conviction in your Tampa DUI case.

If you were arrested for a Tampa DUI and blew over the legal limit, you may still have a valid defense to your Hillsborough County DUI. Please call me at (855) THE-DUI-GUY (855-843-3844) TODAY and we’ll discuss the possibility of negotiating with the prosecutor to reduce your Tampa DUI to a non-DUI offense.
